NEW YEAR’S DAY MATCHES. The amount of prize-money over .£OO —allotted by the Wellington District Defence Rifle Clubs’ Association for coo matches to bo fired at Trentbam on January Ist and 2nd should attract a large number of competitors. As all comers are ti be allowed to compote at this moating the entries should be much more numerous than those of last mooting, whoh only rifle club members were allowed to compote. The following programme nas been drawn np:—No. 1, Manawatu Match, 200, 500 and 600 yards, seven shots, one sighter-, 17 prizes; No. 2, Wairarapa Match, 500 and 600 yards, seven shots, One sigh ter, 17 prizes: No. 3, Upper Hutt Match, 600 and' 700 yards, seven shots, one sigh ter, 17 prizes; No. 4. Woodville Match, 600 yard.-, ten shots, one sighter, 17 prizes; No. 5, Petone Match, 600 and 700 yards, seven shots, one sighter, 22 prizes; No. 6, Karori Match, 700 yards, ten shots, one sighter, 22 prizes: So. 7 match is open to all members who are receiving handicaps in thoir respective clubs, and not winning more than 30s at this meeting, and who havo fired in the first five matches, also open to all tyros who havo not fired at this mooting, ten prizes; No. 8, Grand Aggregate. Nos, 1. 2, 3. i. 5 and G, five prizes, including gold medal; No. 9, Teams Match, five men 11side, aggregate of matches 1 to 6, {cams to bo nominated after first range of first malcb. The Now Zealand Defence Foret’s Rifle Association rules will bo observed.
