ASSESSMENT COURT.
CITY OF WELLINGTON PROPERTIES. Tho Assessment Court for the city of Wellington sat on Thursday afternoon. Dr A. McArthur, S.M., presided, and the assessors wore Messrs F. Bradey and D. T. Stpart. Mr Dalziell appeared for the Valuation Department. , Mr Izard, on behalf of tho Evans estate, objected to tho assessment of £lO a foot on property having 469 ft frontage to Wellington terrace by an irregular depth. Tho valuation was sustained. Mr Meek appeared for Mr W. 0. Watson,’ lessee oi property in Aro street from Halswall’s estate, and objected to the allocation of 'tho unimproved value as between' tenant, and owner. The Court amended the owner’s interest from, £IOO7 to £1290, .and the lessee’s interest from £550 to £257. An objection was raised as to the value of land in Aurora terrace, owned by thoHalswell estate, and loasod by Mr 0. B. Morison. A further objection was raised as to the allocation of the interest as between tho owner and lessee. By consent the area was reduced from a frontage of 167 ft to 14Gft, and the total unimproved value was reduced from £2OOO to £1606. The owner’s interest was allotted at £BSO and tho lessee’s in-' torest at £756. Amendments wore also made concerning the following properties owned by the Halswell estate, for whom Mr Izard appeared:— Section 148 ft by 66ft, in Bolton street. By consent the frontage was reduced to 145 ft, and the total unimproved value from £1036. to £lOls. The owner’s interest 'was amended to £475 and the lessee’s interest to £540. Section 120tt by 80rc, in Bolton, street. The owner’s interest was amended from £SOO to £5lB and the lessee’s interest from £460 to £442. Section 83ft by 132 ft, Wesley road, Owner’s interest was amended from £431 to £448 and the.lessee’s interest from £399 to £382. Section 85ft by 118 ft, Wesley road. Owner’s .interest was amended from £441 to £459 and the lessee’s interest from £409 to £391. Section in Aurora terrace, 106 ft by 85ft. Owner’s interest was amended from £441 to £459 and the lessee’s interest from £409 tq_£39l. Section 180 ft by 264 ft, in Willis street. Owner’s interest was reduced from £IBOO to £I6OO. Laud known as the Tbomdon Tennis Club’s ground. Tho unimproved vaiuo was reduced from £1344 to £1215. At this stage the Court adjourned. Tho following are yesterday's decisions of the Court in cases in which judgment was reserved:— Naval Brigade shod, Jorvoia quay. The unimproved value was reduced from £920 to £lls. - Halswell’s estate; town acre 242, Taranaki steot. The unimproved value of £4083 was sustained. Halswoll’s estate, town acre 305, Kent terrace. Tho owner’s interest of £IBO3 -was reduced to £1553 and the lessee’s interest of £1241 was increased to £1491. • Halswell’s estate, town aero 289, Kent terrace. The owner’s interest of £1722 was reduced to £1522 and tho lessee’s interest of £984 was increased to £llß4. HalswolTs estate, town acre 914, Adelaide road. Tho owner’s interest of £2527 was reduced to £2197 and the lessee’s interest, which was nil, was placed at £330. Halswell’s estate, town acre 906, Adelaide road. Owner’s interest, £2176 and lessee’s interest £459. Valuations sustained.
