CITY HOTEL DIVES.
SUPREME COURT INVOKED. Yesterday notice was filed in tlie office of tho Supreme Court by Mr P, Levi, solicitor, on behalf of Hannah Watson, licensee of the Oriental Hotel, of application for a writ of mandamus (1) ordering th© City Licensing Committee to hold a _ meeting forthwith, and thereupon, without any further adjournment, to grant the plaintiff’s application for a renewal of her license; (2) that a writ of mandamus be issued directing the defendants to hold a meeting to hear and determine the said application; (3) ordering tho committee to pay the costs of the motion and the various proceedings in the action The motion is based on tho grounds that :tho plaintiff is entitled. by law to such certificate, that the defendants had no power or authority to adjourn tho hearing of the application, that no objection was lodged or made to the granting of the said application, that the defendants declined to givo any reason for the adjournment made by them, and that the plaintiff has a right to have her application disposed of without further delay. The mandamus U to ho moved for on Wed. nesday nest, the Bth insfc., or as soon after as the. Court may fix.
