Tho public are reminded that the first sale of Jlataitai takes place this afternoon, at Z o’clock sharp, at the Theatre. Royal, wheu Air \V. 11. TurubuiJ, of the firm of Turnbull, Watkins and. Williams, will submit to public competition. 15a splendid building sues lying in the sheltered valley between Roseneath and Kilbiruie. These Ejections are described as the pick of the estate, us they are mostly level, command beautiful views of Evans Bay and the surrounding country, and are well sheltered from both north and sotith winds. Tlio laud ha s a supply of spring water, and there are facilities for boating, bathing and fishing within five minutes’ walk of any section. Hataitai will have in the future the. advantages of the electric trams, gas supply and the drainage scheme, and at present is the nearest and prettiest of W ellington’s suburbs. The allotments are all of large area, no frontage being less than 5011, while every section fronts a well-loriueii and graded 66ft street. In addition to the present access, a survey is now being niado for the formation of an excellent road from Elizabeth street over the bill, at the very easy grade of one in fifteen. The Hataitai Band Company, Etd., is also endeavouring to make arrangements for the construction of a tunnel through Mount Victoria, with the object of establishing a rapid electric tram service. This will bring the centre of Hataitai within seven minutes of the G.P.O, and the land will then without doubt reach the values now ruling in the city. The tunnel must be an accomplished fact within tho near future, and when assured the sections purchased to-day .must double in value. Never has a better opportunity for sound investment been presented to the people of AA’ellington, and those who. taking into consideration the great future which lies before this property, invest to-day will before very long reap a rich reward for their enterprise. Hataitai offers all the inducements of a savings bank, with twenty times the profit. The proximity of this property to iiie city makes a rapid increase in values an absolute certainly. The terms of sale are of such a liberal nature as to bring the purchase of a section within gthe reach of all, TO tier cent, of the purenase money being allowed to remain at the low rate of -11 per cent. Each section will be started at a low 'upset price, and no section will bo withdrawn for which a bid ia made.
