The Tasmanian tour of the Prank Thornton Comedy Company was a very successful one, tho business done being excellent. In referring to the company's performance in Launceston* ".Tacoue's.” in tho "Courier,” says: "Facing tho Music” is a production of a truly hilarious description. It is a farce from start to finish, and as farce tho critic must take it, for it pretends to bo nothing else. Mr ,T. H. Darnley. who has been responsible for several compositions of a similar type, is the author, and he certainly has succeeded in turning out a piece bristling with ludicrous situations. Mr Frank Thornton found ample scope for bis talents in tho role of the festive John Smith, and the other characters were adequately pern T traced by Messrs John Denton, Joseph AVilson, Alex. Bradley, Galwev Herbert, Misses Phoebe Mercer, Fordvee. Norbnry. and others. Tile second production was "The Strange adventures of Miss Brown.” audt.be audience enjoyed the cloverlv-construoted farce immensely.
