LONDON, November 27. Fifty Irish priests stationed in Lon : don have protested against tho absence of Nationalist members from tho debates on tho Education Bill. RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION. (Received November 29, 0.16 a.m.) LONDON, November 28. In tho House of Commons, Mr Cripps, member for Stratford, moved the omission from tho Education Bill of Colonel Kenyon Slanoy’s amendment, previously accepted by tho Government, which gave tho manager's of schools control of religious instruction. Tho Prime Minister (Mr Balfour) said that, theoretically, there was something in tho comments of tho clergy regarding tho power conferred, but thoro was little real fear of the laity attempting to override tho clergy’s control of religious teaching. Mr Cripps’s motion was defeated by 291 votes to 35.
