The Elingamite wreck inquiry was adjourned till 2 this afternoon, owing - to the late arrival of the assessors, and was . then further adjourned till Friday for the appearance of the Crown Prosecutor. The Government steamer Countess of Banfurly has returned after an unsuccessful search for the Elingamito’s massing boat. Tho Collector of Customs’ application for inquiry into tho wreck of the Blingamito alleges that the wreck was caused by negligence and careless navigation by tho captain, first and second officers, and that an order of “full speed astern,” given by the master from the bridge, was not obeyed by tho engP* neers. :
