General Andro, Minister for War, speaking ’in tho Senate, admitted t hat Binco tho treaty of Frankfurt the deaths from disease in tho French army had been 90,000, against 13,000 in (lie German army. Tho average mortality in the Frond) army, he said, was 317! per year, chiefly from typhoid and eeiisnmption, as against 71 in tho German army.
