NEW RAILWAY STATIONS.

Pl’.ESa ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, November 4. A deputation waited on Sir Joseph Ward this morning to urge improvements at Lyttelton, and asking for a now jjassengor station, tho present one, it was staled, being inadequate. Sir Joseph Ward, in reply, said ho would consider tho representations made. Ho stated that the -Government was continually pressed to provide extended railway facilities, but could only do urgent work first. Ho was prepared to have a report on the matter. Ho referred to tho impression abroad that tho Government was building railway stations everywhere, and said it was incorrect. Only six had boon built in his time.
