ACCIDENTS.

A man named Francis Dougherty was drowned at Newman last Thursday whilst swimming his horse. Messrs W. Drummond, Jagerhorn, Kilsby and Constable Grey yesterday recovered the body, which was in 15ft of water. A lad named Charles Bullis, who resides with his mother at No. 18, Tennyson street, met with a painful accident yesterday morning. He was working for Messrs Ballinger Bros, at the D.I.C. buildings. He lifted a pail of molten lead off a fire, but found it w r as too hot for him to carry and he put it down on the wet pavement, where it upset, with the result that the lead splashed over his legs and burned them considerably. PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, March 7. Charles Wadham, a fireman on the Karamea, fell off the wharf at Lyttelton this morning and was drowned. The body has been recovered.
