CORPORATION PICNIC.
About 600 people attended the picnic of the Corporation employees, which was held on Saturday. Various amusements were held, and Jupp's Band enlivened the proceedings with selections. The following are the results of the sports: Girls (under 14 years), V. Ryan 1; Boys (under 11 years), L. Murphy 1; Men’s Race (over 45 years), Sullivan 1; Open Handicap, Brannagan 1, O’Conner 2; Bicycle Handicap, J. White 1; Married Women’s Race, Mrs Crombie 1; Drivers' -Race, White 1; Walking Match McEarney 1; Single Women’s Race, F.. Murphy 1; General Handicap, D. Mahoney 1, Clark 2: Sack Race, McGuire, 1; Open Handicap, J. E. Kerslake 1, O'Conner 2: drainage and reserves men, Myers 1; Drivers’ Race, Russell 1; Canvassers' Race, W. White 1; Married Women’s Race. Mrs Hicks 1; Tug-of-War. Lamberg's team 1, Petersen’s team 2; Boys’ Race, Rix 1; Combined Shop, Cameron 1; General Hands, Petersen 1; Obstacle Race, Hamilton 1; Committeemen’s Race.
