PARIS', October 21.. 3f. ’do’SantpsJDumont , the' aeronaut, asdended. from the Parc Prostatiquo in his'navigable balloon, easily rounded the EiftVl Tower at a height cf 250 metres (aboitit 825 feet), and regained the point Of departure in 1765 seconds; while, in a seioand attempt ho covered the distapCeiiiu 1840 seconds. While returning, the balloon encountered a strong wind. The) Aero Club Committee decided that M. del .Santor-Dumont had failed to win the E'qutsch prize by 44 seconds. M. Poutseb personally considered that the acronaiAfc had won. The Crowds who witnessed tho ascent showerejd flowers on M. do Santo.'.Dumont. .
