AUCKLAND, October 3. The Taviuni, from Fiji, brought intelligence of the wreck of the schooner East. w,ard Ho, owned by Mr Krafft. of Levuka, on Sunday, September 22nd. ' The weather was squally and dark, and the schooner was making her way on the sea side of the Uoreeshoe Reef when she was suddenly in the breakers and settled down in them, making water heavily. Captain Bysantson was compelled to leave her, and with the crew, to proceed in a boat to Malaka, where they remained until the following morning. The Eastward Ho was loaded with' 17,000 ft of vesi logs and sawn timber. There were no insurance* on' either ship or cargo. The wreck was Mid for J6U, but subsequently- broke up, her destruction being probably hastened by the pounding' of the logs against the sides.
