Sundial, Forward Guard and Employer were worked on the tracks before -breakfast, Keith giving his charges a sound racing when the frosF had diseappeared. Cutts gave his lot useful exercise, Cannie Ohiel .and Glenaladale going twice round the cinders at threequarter pace. Somerled went a fast once round. Djin Djih and other members of the team did half pace work. T9rror, with Aide-de-camp and Tigress, was sent six furlongo on the cinders, Mr Ormond's colt ran home hard held from Aidc-de-camp in Imin 21isec, with Tigress beaten off. Sant Ilario had a little the best of Scottish Minstrel over seven furlongs, run in Imin 35sec. Both are in capital form, and are expected to run well in the Winter Cup. Tauhei and Haydn ran a mile, the grey mare holding her companion safely, and finishing in Imin 51seo„ Stravbird and Favona can tored, and were then sent a fast round. Jewel Gun and Whitirea finished together at ihe end of a mile on the sand in Imin 49 l-ssec. - Benzoin and Dundas galloped a mile on the cinders in excellent style, the former having a bit the best of matters, in Jmin 491 sec. Lady Dundas alone traversed a mile on the same track in Imin Slsec. The Hompie beat Muscovite comfortably over a strongly run seven furlongs. Roller, The Needle and Hairtrigger worked together for two rounds, commencing at half pace and finishing strongly. Dsrringcotte and Bndara were schooled over the hurdles. The former made one inferior jump, but both otherwise jumped well. Social Pest, Dummy, Dartmoor. Battloaxe. Strathnairn, Magnificent, Malatua, Military, Right Metal, Opaka, Natation, Venture. Clandehoye. Antigone. Onvalrv, Peerage, Long Tom, Oyster, Daisy Chain, Larboard Watch, and others were given sound pacing. Cannongntc, after working yesterday, trod on a stone, and 'wrenched a foot. He was walking on. the course this morning, and is expected to ba all right in a day or two. Owing to frost, tho jumping of the National horses was postponed till to-mor-row. A SWEEP WINNER. (Received August 6, 10.51 p.m.) HOBART, August 6. Mr McKeoghan, of Takaka, Nelson, won the second prize of X9OO in Tattersall’s sweep on the Broken Hill Cup.
