MEETINGS
A meeting of the Literary and Debating Society of the Marist Bros.’ Schools Old Bovs’ Association was held in S't. Patrick’s Hall last evening. The Rev Father Goggan occupied the chair. The subject on the syllabus for lu® evening wa-s “ Impromptu Debates,’,’ and a number of varied subjects were discussed. . Tho fortnightly meeting of Court Robin Hood, A.0.F.,. Bro. Colquhoun, Chief Hunger, presiding, was held last night, in the Foresters’ Hall, Tory street. Two new members were elected and two initiated. At the close of Hie meeting, which was purposely abbreviated, the “ social ” season was inaugurated. in conjunction with Court Sir George Bowen, A.0.F.. under the most favourable, auspices, quite fifty couples participating in the dances, which were pleasantly interspersed with songs and -recitation.-; by members of the two courts. These joint socials, >t is intended. will bo held monthly. Bro. McNair made an efficient M.C., and Bro. Foden presided, at the piano with his customary skill. A general meeting of the Progressive Municipal Association will be held at Mrs Darroch’s rooms, Cuba street, this CTenin<?/ 1 A n _ ernersent convocation of the Waterloo Koval. Arch Chapter, No. 2, will b £ . held at the Masonic Hall this evening.
