MURDERS AND SUICIDE. (Received November 16, 0.-16 a.m.) SYDNEY, November 16. The bodv of an old man named Kirk has been found in a water hole near Geelong. A rope was tightly bound round the body, pinning toe arms to the sides, and there were abrasions on the head. The medical evidence showed that it was impossible for the deceased to have fixed the rope around himself in such a way. Kirk’s mate has been’ arrested. _ A Mrs Baxter wandered away from her home at No win with a six mouths old infant. The body of the woman was found on the seashore, and it is supposed she drowned herself and her infant in a fit of dementia. MELBOURNE. November 16. An inmate of the lunatic asylum at Yarra Bend, named Robertson, stealing behind another inmate named Shanks, battered 1 him to death with a block of wood. ' When charged at the Court Robertson eaid a God Almighty told me to kill him.” He also offered to kill all the warders and those who were in Court,
