«. PRESS ASSOCIATION. MASTERTON, June 21. Hercook’s Mulgrave Hotel, Jlroycrton, was totally destroyed by fire last night. The fire originated from the hanging of clothes in front of the lire to dry after JVlrs and Miss ilereock had finished' ironing. The building was twenty-five years old. The proprietor lost a cash box with £27, and in trying to save it narrowly escaped loss of life. Notning was saved. The inmates only have what they wore dressed in at the time. The building was owned b vMr R. P. Johnson, local agent for the D.I.C. The insurances arc—£Bso on the building, £375 on the furniture and piano, and £75 on the stock—all in the Commercial Union Office. The estimated loss over insurance is £250 on the building and £BOO on the contents.
