WELLINGTON RUGBY UNION. At a meeting of the W ellingtoii-Rugb.* Union’s Management Committee last night there were present: —Messrs N. Galbraith Cm the chair). A. W Stevens. W Coffev, J. Murray, J. H. A. Laughtun, A. J. Kcllow. D. McKenzie (hon secretary), and J. IL Pagni (hon treasurer). A member of the Athletic fourth liftcen who had been ordcredoif tlie field for misconduct attenaea, but as the referee (Mr G. Hanson) who bad reported him was unable to be present, consideration of the case was deferred until next meeting. It was decided to suggest to the Wairarapa Thursday Union the 18th July as the date for the match between its representatives and the local Wednesday half-holiday players. A letter from the New .Zealand'Union, asking what sum by. way of absolute guarantee the committee was prepared to oiler for q match; between Wellington and the New. South Wales team which proposes visiting this colony was held over, pending a reply from the Athletic Park Company as to what terms it is prepared' to give for such a match to be. played on its ground. At the request of the Referees’ Association, Messrs Galbraith, Laughton and McKenzie were axipointcd a sub-comraittce to act with the association’s, representatives' in _ revising and bringing' down in a Concise form tho latest rulings on the laws of, the game. It was resolved to tender_tlic Si . Patrick’s College Club the .sum of for the use of its ground,'..and also to donate £2 2s to the Public Schools Union, besides providing , its representatives with caps, and to .present tho winning team in the schools competition with a ball. The Southland Union wrote stating tnat its representatives would probably tour, .the coiony this season, and asking v .what financial assistance the Wellington Union was prepared, to give ... for a match. It was decided to reply that the teduthland team would be welcomed in Wellington, but regretting that in view or a standing. lade of the local union, no assistance in the direction indicated could be granted.
