: The Hon J. G. Ward recoived.'a. telegram from the Hon John McKenzie yesterday- stating that he had spent a very good night, and as a consequence was much improved. On Tuesday he had not been nearly So w-ell. :
: Tho Hon Mr Feldwick, M.L.C., and Mr R. MeNab, M.H.R,, arrived from the. South yesterday. They called: on the Hon John McKenzie, at his home at Shag Point,-.while;;on their way north. The ; Son, D. Pinkerton, : of Dunedin, has’alsb arrived. ' ! v. The many friends:of Mr John Ross, resident partner of the firm of Sargbod, Son and Ew-en. will .’be glad, to learn that from letters received by- the mail his health is in, far better condition than w-hen leaving New Zealand; the sea voyage and rest having evidently had a goad effect. . He has been ordered by -London physicians to go; to Germany to take a course of the w-atersV ; ; -
: Members of both Houses of Parliament continue to -arrive in Wellington iri readiness for the opening of Parliament to-day. Among the latest arrivals, are the Speaker of the Legislative Co uncil (Hon H. J. Miller), Hon S. E. Shmnslri, and Messrs H. G. Ell (Christchurch). J. T. M. Hornsby (Wairarapa), Hogg (Masterton), T. Parata (Southern Maori), J. Stevens (Manawatu) and Colvin (Bnller).
