AUCKLAND EASTER ENCAMPMENT.
PRESS ASSOCIATION - . AUCKLAND, Tuesday. At the close of the sham fight yesterday, and at the march-past at the camp, tho officers were called to the front, and the Commandant of the Forces, Colonel Pole Penton, thanked them for tho good attendances there had been at the camp, and congratulated them on the splendid con duct they had displayed throughout. Special reference was made to the excellent spirit and the loyalty shown in volunteering for Samoa, if required. Colonel Penton said His Excellency the Governor, who had visited the camp on tho previous day and had seen the men manoeuvring, was much pleased with thorn, and had expressed himself to that effect in a letter which would bo published in tbo district orders. Tim men of the Waikato Mounted Corps are remaining in camp for another three days for instruction by Captain Coleman, Government Instructor for Mounted Companies through the colony.
