PLUMBERS’ UNION PICNIC.

The third ■ animal picnic : of/the Plumbers’ Union took place, on baturdav. The popular screw steamer Duchess was chartered for the occasion by the union. ■ Quite a . thousand people were nrosent. : The band of the Napolitani Students contributed in no small degree to the enjoyment' of the picnickers, many of whom indulged in dancing in the pavilion. The following is a list of the officials appointed to superintend a generous programme 01 sports ; —Referee, Mr J. Alexander ; judges, Messrs R. Barry, W. Msick, J. Banks J: Arnold ; handicappcrs,. Messrs D Barr and : W. Brett;, a committee of twenty members' of which the executive consisted of Mr D. Barr (chairman) and Messrs H. W. Davies and W. Mdhgan (joint secretaries).
