OLD AGE PENSIONS.
The hearing of claims for pensions, under the Old Age Pensions Act, was resumed before Mr Kenny yesterday. Full pensions of £lB per annum were granted as follows:—James Baird, 72 years, 30 years' in colony; William Churchill, 73 years, 44 years in colony ; William Baker, 70 years, 36 years in colony; James T. Bedford, 73 35 years in colony; Mary Clarkson, 65 years, 32 years in colony; John Burridge, 71 years, 48 years in colony, and Sarah Burridge; 72 years, 48 years in colony (both subject to certificates of character); ■ Eliza Benge, 67 years, and John Benge, 76 years, both over 50 years in the. colony; Jane Metcalf, 72 years, 26 years in colony : Jane Carter, 70 years, 33 years in. colony; Jacob Frankel, 88 years, 39 years in colony; Michael Bourne, 65 years, 25 in colony; S. V. , Mur eh, 69 years, 31 in colony; William Phillpot, 76. years, 44 in coiony; James Benwick, 71 years, 2S in colony; Sophia Storey, 69 years; 40 in colony; John Giles, 73 years, 49 in colony; Johann Giles, 73 year’s, 59 in colony; Charles Copling, 68' years, 30 in colony; John Sims, 82 years, 40 in colony; Ellen Secomb, 66 years, 35 in colony (subject to, proof as to age); Thomas Cooper, .76 years, 28 years in colony; Mary Jepson, 72 years, 26 in colony; Margaret .Sinclair, 86 years, 44 in colony; Susanna Smith, 66 years, v over 30 in . colony; Eliza Chance, 74 years, 53 in colony;, George Ludlam, 60 years, 36 in colony; Bridget Graham, 65 years, 38 in colony (subject to proof of age); Joseph Hall. 66years, 56 in colony ; Patrick Connell, 77 years, 42 in colony; Patrick Flanagan.. 78 years, 50 years in colony; James West, 70 years, 36 years in colony; Daniel Rivers, 68 years, 42 in colony;' Ellen Rivers, 67 years, 32 in, colony :■ John Trotter,'7l years, 66 in colony; James Woods, 66 years, 37 in colony (subject to proof of the value of property;' William Pentney,., 74 years, 54 years in colony. Other applications were dealt with as follows Henry Steen, 68 years, 30 in colony, £7; Michael Walsh, 67 years, re--fused as he had left. the colony for 10 years during, the past 25 years Ann Sinclair, 64 years, postponed until May, ns she was not 65 years of age; Henry Smith, 72 years, 43 . in colony, £l4; liouisa Brenton, 66 years, 40 in colony, £8; Wdham Tarrant, 73 years, 63 in colony, £3; Samuel Brooks, 67 years, ■ 36 in colony (postponed for proof of age), William Camm, 76 years, 53 in colony (disallowed, as the/ applicant had been away for more than two years in the last 25.
Mrs Mary Andrews attended 1 and satisfactorily explained the circumstances of the transfer of nronerty. which was valued at about £I3OO, to her son many years ago, and was granted- a full pension of £lB. - .
