DR WILLIAM HENRY . PAEKES TO MISS MAUD BOSS. A wedding which has been looked for-, ward to with very much in’erest, especially in Wellington and Auckland, was solemnised at f-t. E'ef.er’s Church yester!ay. warn Dr "A ilii.im Henry Parkes, son of Air W. P»rites, of Chrislchurch, was married to Miss Maud El zabeth Rcss, -Ider daughter of Air John Ross, of Messrs Sargood, Son and Ewc-n. The bridegroom, who is now practising in Auckland. was atone timv in Wellington. The bride is very popular, and ns ever since her arrival in this city sheilas been a member if Sr.. Peter’s choir, the wedding ceremony was fully choral • The flee interior of the church had its effect enhanced by long red, white and blue bannerets bung between the side winlows ; and on the altar were beautiful bouquets of whitear.d scarlet flowers. For the -uests, who numbered nearly 300, the front halves of the two centre rows of pews were reserved. Every part of the building was crowded when the clergy and choir, just before half-past 1 o’clock, walked down one of the side aisles to the main entsranee. Dr F\ff<j, at. the organ, played appropriate music until the arrival of the bride, who was punctual. Then rhe hymn. “The Voice that Breathed p’rr Eden,” was given out. It was sung as a processional. A cross bearer headed the choir, who w<re followed by the clergy (the Bishop of Wellington, the Eev W. C. Waters and the Rev A. M. Johnson), after whom, carno the bridal party, the bride resting.cn her father’s arm. The vicar read the opening exhortation. and the marriage ceremony was pet formed by the Bishop. 'J he bride was married in a very hand•omo dress of P'ory white hroche, which was trimmed with pearls and silk Alaltese lace. On one corner of the train was a horseshoe of orarge blossoms, and on the other a lover's knot contrived in white satin ribbon. She wore a veil and orange blossoms. Her jewellery included a diamond and pearl brooch, a present irom the bridegroom ; and a necklace of delicate gold strands supporting a handsome ptnrlant composed of large pearls, presented by Sir Frederick and Lady Sargood. 'i he bridesmaids were Mies Ethel Ross (sister of the bride). Miss Wise (Dunedin), Mies Parkes (sister of the bridegroom) and Bliss Bi-ott (Auckland). They wore dresses of white surah silk trimmed with white ■ chiffon sashes and laCe boleros; white chiffon hats, having white plumes in.them. Two, of the bridesmaids received from the bridegroom spray brooches of pearls, and the other two re- , ceived bird brooches of pearls, Mrs Eoss, mother of the bride, was attired in a costume of black moire antique, elegantly . trimmed with ciream, rdse-qnpk and jet; bonnet to match* Miss Glover, aunt of the bride, wore a tailor-made coslmuo of grey with white facings; white chiffon hat. The bridegroom .was attended by Air David Peacock, of Auckland, as best man, arid the groomsmen were .Messrs Fred Koss (brother cf the brido). Jack .Holmes and John Smith.

ChaTpfing.showpr bouquets were carried by the ladies of the bridal party. , In'the bride’s bouquet blooms of white cosmos, anemone' Japonica, nepbitos and souvenir roses, heaths, carnatic ns and begonias were tastefully arranged with light green foliage. From it hung showprs of white rosebuds, agapanthus, heaths and sweet peas, set off by bright green leaves. The bouquet was tied with white satin ribbon. Equally choice flowers were included in the bridesmaids’ bouquets, which were tied with streamers of yellow satin ribbon. The bouqpet carried by the mother of the hride was iii keeping with her costume, it being composed of pink and cream flowers, and finished, with cream watered ribbon. , , . _ The wedding march was played by Dr Fyffe as the bride and bridegroom made their way from the vestry down the central aiele to the main entrance. Just as they stepped into their carriage, which was drawn by two white horses,.the bellringers started a trierry peal. . A large crowd saw ib fj happy couple and the guests drive oil to “Inve"rlochy,” ; Abel Smith street.; Here a reception--was held, a large marquee having been pitched for the purpose cm the concrete tennis ground. The wedding cake was hexagonal in shape, and of. more than ordinary* size. Two silver galleries assisted to give it a height of some five feet. ■ It was elaborately .ornamented _with a filagree design and various hand-painted emblems of an appropriate character. The wedding presents, which were ' very numerous, were. in the drawing room. Some of the presents have been delivered at Auckland, where, after (he honeymoon. Dr and.
