MEETING OF CREDITORS.

A DANNEVIRKE ESTATE. An adjourned meeting oiL creditors in the estate of William James Wylie, of Dannevirko, storekeeper, a bankrupt, was held yesterday at the office of the Official Assignee, who presided. Tdiere were also present—Messrs E. B. Natron (Levin and Co.), Archibald Clark (Archibald Clark and Sons), J. J. Patterson and J. H. Turnbull (W. and G. Turnbull and Co.). Resolutions were unanimously carried as follows; the last meeting (at Dannevirko) that the proceedings be transferred to Wellington be now confirmed; that Levin and Co.’s aeoomlt for expenses, £2l 17s sd, be paid preferentially; and that the legal expenses incurred in resisting the transfer of the proceedings to the Napier office be paid preferentially.” Mr Patterson agreed to make up the difference of 10s in the £ for preferential claims for rent and wages. The Assignee reminded.the mooting that his accountant had reported that there was an unexplained balance of £777, and asked for an expression of opinion as to the report he should make to the Court. ’Mr Nation said he did not think there had been any misconduct on tho part of the bankrupt. Mr Patterson, who was of the same opinion, added that a certain amount of money had got out of the estate in some’ way that had not been explained. Ho did not want to charge anyone, but tho money had got out. The bankrupt never had £2OOO of book debts. He (Mr Patterson) had been'hunting for them earnestly, but he could not find them. Would the Assignee state why such an earnest effort was made to have the proceedings moved to Napier? Mr Nation and the Assignee remarked that there were wheels within wheels, but thought no good end would' be served by going into the mutter, ,The .meeting was adjourned sine die,
