Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co. report as follows: At to-day’s fortnightly sales we Baomltteaii catalogue of 20 bales and bags of wool and 1020 sheepskins. We have no change to report In values ol wool, while sheepskins also maintained recent prices, with the exception of good three-quarter woolied crossbreds, and these were a farthing lower. This decline, however, is largely attributable to the damp condition of many of the aklns arriving at this time of year. We quote; Good half to three - quarter woolied skins, *4d to 43d per lb; Inferior do, 4d to 4**s good short woolied crossbreds, Sid to 4d; inferior do, 2Jd to 8d; crutobinga wool, 8M to 4d for. clean, light lots ; Bjd for medium ; 2*d to Sd .for. inferior; stragglers’ fleeces, 4Jd to 6Jd; dead wool, 4d to 44d, The date of next sale is August 19th. Messrs Levin and Co. report:— At to-day s auction wo offered 16 bales wool and 1060 skins. We have no change to note in prices. We quote : Crutcbings—Fine and clean, Sjd to 4d; mediom, Bid to Sid; coarse, 3d to 3id- Good skins, 4Jd to 6d per lb; medium woolied, 4id to 44d; short, 4d to 4id; hoggets, 4d to 4Jd per Ib; dead, Bjd to 4d. The United Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Limited, report aa follows: —We have held our usual fortnightly sal© of wool, skins, bides, «0., today. when we submitted a good catalogue to the usual attendance of buyers. Bidding was not quite so keen as usual; the continued low price of crossbred wools In the Home market is having its effect on local operators, and though no fall in prices was experienced, there was an easier feeling; 6d was reached lor a low lots, and taken all round we maj «ay that prices were about on a pit with lata rates. We quote best skins, 5d per lb ; good, ia to. 43d ; medium, 3d to BJd; inferior and damaged, 2d toSd: pelts (poor) from 6d to Is; orutohings. best. Id; medium, 23d to 3Jd; looks, 2d. We hold oat next sale on Friday, 19th August. The New Zealand Loan and Meroantile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows:—We held our usual fortnightly sale to day (Friday), whet) wa offered a catalogue of 1210 skins and 11 bales and 4 bags of wool. Prices were tally equal to last sale rates, In loot, taking quality Into consideration, we think the market was a shade better. For the leading lines in skins we secured »d per Ib. The skins were not of course full woolied, but the pelts were sound, and this no doubt had a good deal to do with our obtaining such a full rate. Medium and Inferior skins sold at from 8d to 421, and green skins (rather poor) at up to Bs. The wool was nearly all crutcbings, but was heavy m condition, nod (ho best pr ce realised was SJd per lb. The Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Limited, report as follows:—We, oe usual, held our bi-weekly sale yesterday, when 1600 skins and a goal few lines of oratchings and dead wool were, as at last sale, fairly maintained; ode line of three-quorter woolied skins and well saved pelts realised Bid. This latter price shows that the low prices at Home have not so far depressed our local market. The sale was well attended, and bidding was brisk. We quote as follows :-Best Sty half to three-quarter woolied tkins, 4*d to6d per lb, half woolied, B*d to 4*d j inferior and damaged, 2d to 4d; orutohings, fine, quote up to 4id; coarse and dirty, Sid to 33d; heavy, coarse and dirty, 2jd to B|d; dead wool realised up to 6*3. Ox hides up to 19a; cow hides up to 10a. Our next sale will be held on the 19th August.
