Sit George Turner, Premier, has instructed the Agent-General for Victoria to back up the Queensland Government’s request to Mr Chamberlain, Secretary of State for the Colonies, to ask the Quean to ■withhold her assent to the New Guinea Hand Syndicate ordinance. It is suggested that New South Wales and West Australia should take similar steps.
