DOUBLE MURDER AND SUICIDE. 8v TeUgraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. Received May 25, 12.50 a.m. Sydney, May 21. A double murder and suicide is reported from the township of Forster (201 miles north of Sydney) ; a half-caste named Fields murdered his wife and child with a tomahawk. He also seriously wounded a three months old infant and then committed suicide by cutting his throat. The motive for the crime is alleged to be jealousy. THE ROOKWOOD MURDERS. DEATH OF MRS KING. Received May 21,10 p.m. Sydney, May 24. Mr King, the second victim of the Rookwood tragedy, died to-day after prolonged suffering. [Mrs King was the wife of the sexton at Rookwood Cemetery. An employee who had been discharged fired a number of shots at Mr and Mrs King, killing the former instantly. Subsequently the murderer committed suicide.]
