It is furlher directed that no laudatory inscription be placed on the tomb. Received May2J. 10.40 am. London, May 23. There are many references to Mr Gladstone in the Russian newspapers, which are unanimous in paying homage to the deceased statesman. THE FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS. Received May 2/5, 32.50 a.m. London, May 24. At Gladstone’s funeral the members of the House of Lords and Commons and Privy Councillors will precede the body to Westminster Abbey, the family and mourners following. Consuls, representatives of the jonblio service, universities, learned societies, mayors, provosts, and chairmen of county councils have been invited. In deference to the family’s wishes no floweis have been permitted.
