The New Zeeland Loan end Mercantile Agenoj Company, Limited (Wellington), have rece.rcd tho following cable message from their London bouse, dated 20th Injt.:—“ Wool—The sale. oloae f this day. Since close of last sales scoured merino super, greasy, washed and scouted merino medium and inferior, fine washed and scoured crossbred, medium greasy crossbred, merino and crossbred slipe, medium washed ana scoured crossbred, coarse greasy, washed ana scoured crossbred and greasy crossbred Jambs aro nar to Ad par lb lower; other descriptions unchanged. The total quantity sold during the past sales is 168,000 bales, of which 76,000 bales have been taken for the Continent and none lor America. It is estimated that 89,000 bales have been held over for future disposal. Tallow is in good demand. New Zealand fine mutton is worth £34 ; New Zealand good bcof, £22. Frozen meat —New Zealand mutton: Quotations unchanged since last cablegram. Lamb market flem. Canterbury iamb is worth 4)d per lb. Wheat—C.iX market weaker. Now Zealand wheat, f.a.q., is worth, c i.f to arrive, 43s per 48Ulb. Messrs F, It. Jackson and Co.’s St. Hill street stock report is as follows:—Last Waverley sale was a small one, but there was brisk bidding for both cattle and sheep, and everything was quitted. For sheep an Improved demand existed. Mixed yearlings and weanors made 18s; weanexs, 10s; small weaners, 0s Od to ?s Od ; lambs, 4a to 4s 7d; forward ewes, Gs 6d to 7s; stores, 3s 5d to 4s 7d. At Bt. Hill street yesterday ths entry was limited. Sheep were firmer, and quitted rapidly. Cattle remain without alteration. For largo pigs and good porkers there Is a ready sale. Half-fatted pigs are dull. Wo quote Cattle—2-year steers, £2 8s ; mired weaners, good quality, 10s 6d to lls ; 20-month heifers, 21s; store cows, 18s; springing heifers, £8 7s 6d. Sheep—Pat aod forward wethers, 9s Dd to 0s 9d; store wethers, 9s; 2-tooth store wethers, 7s Cd to 7s lOd ; fat ewes, Gs 5d to 7s 6d; lambs, 4s Sd; cull ewes, 3s 7(1. Pigs—Bacon pigs, 8(h to 83s; choppers, £2 4a; porkers, 15s 8d to 16s 8d; slips and weaners, 2s 6d to 4s Cd.
