TO THE EDITOR* Sib, —Having perused with' surprise the report of your oorreipou dent's interview with Major Sommerville/xeported in Monday’s New Zeadanu Times, I wish to oontiadict< most emphatically ono of tho astounding statements ! therein contained, namely: “It waa a matter of astonishment to the officers to see a New Zealand man salute when he- went-np to:, speak-*to an officer.
