THE INDIAN FRONTIER TROUBLE.
By Telegraph,—Press Association. — Copyright. Calcutta, October 19, General Lockhart's expedition to Tirah met with severe resistance in the Chagra Valley. General Biggs' division engaged 6000 tribesmen, who were defending the valley. Major K. D. Jenninga-Bramloy, of the Gordon Highlanders, who distinguished himself in the Chitral Belief Expedition, 1890, was killed, as also were nine British privates, while 03 were wounded. The enemy lost heavily. Two squadrons of the 9th Bengal Lancers fell into an ambuscade at Mamani. One subadbur (a native officer,) and 14 sowars (native cavalrymen) were killed and 7 wounded.
