The steamer Tilua, from Solomon Islands, brought throe natives as prisoners, who it is alleged were concerned in another brutal massacre at Guadalcanal The victims were Penote, a French trader, and two native servants, who were attacked in broad daylight and tomahawked in a shocking manner. Mr Woodford, the British Commissioner, with a party of native police and several white traders, set out to punish the natives. The punitive expedition underwent much hardship, but succeeded in capturing the supposed murderers. .Before this was accomplished several natives were shot and a village burnt. The prisoners leave for Fiji to-night, whore they will be tried.
