THE NEW CANADIAN MAIL SERVICE.

One condition that vessels should not call at any American port.^ The managers of the Allan and Dominion lines suggested that during tho ]y ,nte J months the mail liners should be allowed to • make Portland, the chief seaport or Maine (U.S.), the terminus. ijondok, October JO. The Times says there is a strong feeling against vessels touching any American port. The Government is arranging tor a temporary service.
