THE COMING MAYORALTY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —Among the many gentlemen mentioned as likely candidates I notice the name of- Mr A. do B. Brandon; Surely, sir, in this city our choice of good men should not be so limited that we should have to decide between Messrs Fisher and Brandon P Mr Fisher is so well known that there is no occasion for me to make any remarks about . him. As for Mr Brandon, he has been Mayor before, and was not an unqualified success. He did not show himself, a strong man when in office before. Besides, sir, we at this end of the town are firmly determined to select. ouc,Mayor elsewhere than from the select few in Hobson street, who appear to think that they should have the monopoly of the position. It is to be hoped l that .-yet we shall hear of a more suitable candidate, and one more in touch with the mass of the people.—l am, &0., *Te, Abo Ratepayer.
