The Admirals of the foreign fleets in Cretan waters insist that Albanians shall replace the Mussulman gendarmes in Crete, owing to the habitual condoning of offences by Moslems. Receive 1 October 19, 12.15'a.m. Athens, October 17. The Admirals of the combined fleet have decided to abolish the Turkish police in Crete and propose to substitute an Italian mounted force. The Christians at Heraklion are appealing for protection against the Moslem excesses. '
