CITY RIFLES. A FURTHER TEST OF THE AUCKLAND AMMUNITION. The City Rifles held a competition at the Evans Bay range on Saturday last for the purpose of testing the Auckland ammunition, the corps having obtained a supply of 500 rounds of September, 1897, the same as that used by the Honorary Reserve Corps of Christchurch. The test on Saturday proved that the 1897 ammunition is slightly better than the 1896, but not good enough to recommend it for long-range shooting*
