Mr J. Marshall, of Worser Bay, who recently wont Home by the Mataura oa a holiday trip, returned by the same steamer yesterday. Mr J. Lowles, M.P , was a passenger by the Mataura as far as Albany, and Sir Hugh' Nelson, K.C.M.G., Premier of Queensland, left tbe same ship at Hobart. Mr W. H Millward, general manager of the Gear Meat Company, has been appointed a director of the New Zealand FariUers'lDairy Union, vice Mr N. Reid, who has resigned. Mr J. H. Hume has been transferred from the Gore branch of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company to the Auckland branch. He will be sucoeeded at Gore by Mr Cowan, of Invercargill, Mr A. M. Stuart (recently connected with the Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile) left by the Talune on Saturday night for England on a holiday trip. Ha expects to return in about 10 months. The members of his “ whar© ” at Karaka Bay assembled oil the wharf and gave him a hearty send-off. A resident of Croydon, near Gore, H. E. Copeland, was found dead ia bed last week on the eve of his wedding. Death resulted from failure of the heart’s action. His relalives live ia Sydney. A large number of friends bad been invited to celebrate the marriage, and great sympathy is felt for the intended bride.
