CHARITABLE AID QUESTIONS.
By Telegraph.—Frets ASsctlilion. AIjUKtAND, October 14. It a special meeting of the Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board for the purpose of making suggestions and recommendations on charitable aid questions to bo sent to Messrs J. Bollard, W. Crowther and J. J. Holland, M.’sH.R., who will act as tho Board’s delegates at the Conference on charitable aid to be held at Wellington shortly, the following resolutions were carried; "That in the opinion of this Board no change be made in the present method of raising funds for hospital and charitable aid purposes." “That one meahs Of ith=. proving the system of outdoor belief would be tho establishment of farms on which applicants for relief who ate able to work would he compelled to work while in receipt of relief." “ That some sort of labour test be devised in the large centres such as atonebreaking by piecework, on which able-bodied or other men be employed before receiving rations.”
