Gollan’s Mosqaetairo is no.w located in tho same establishment at Home as Trenton and Carnage. Tho Cbriatchnrob-bred Alpine, by St. George Escalade, won tho Ballarat Cup tho other day rather easily from Wolf and Straightfiro and five others. He has been a great disappointment on tbo other side, this being bat his second win, though he is now six years old. Ho belongs to A. Taylor, of Burrumboot, and has been training with Ela■wiok (Merganser’s relative) and Idolator, the Australian Cup winner. Alpine’s first win was accomplished in tho Maiden at Flomington throe years ago, when ho beat S. H. Gollan’s The Possible by a head. Tbo hurdle horse Touoh-it, owned by Mr C. Gibson, of Hawora, had to bo destroyed yoatordny morning in consequence of a serious injury. Tbo horse was being schooled over hurdles, and in jumping over on to tho trial track landed badly, breaking his leg. One or two errors occurred in tho transmission of the weights for tho Hawko’a Bay Jockey Club's Summer Mooting. Kauri Gum's weight in tho Welter Handicap is 9st, not Bst' 131 b. Gold Cup’s name was omitted from tbo Christmas Handicap. 'Tier weight is Sat 31b.
