STRATFORD.
Special to the New Zealand Times. Stratford, September 13. A whole fortnight of perfect weather without rain is a novelty for this part of the Colony at this season.
Copies of the prospectus of the New Zealand Iron and Steel Company, issued in London, are being circulated in this district, The text is identical with that published some days ago in the New Zealand Times.
Steps are being taken to form a bowling club for Stratford. The promoters of a theatre for Stratford have formed a company and issued a prospectus. # lt is proposed to raise a capital of .fiIGOO in £1 shares, of which, some 900 have already been taken up. A suitable site has been secured on the* southern side of the bridge across thePatea river.
Notwithstanding the extremely dull state of trade in this district, no fewer than five new shops have been and arer being erected in Stratford.
