SATURDAY HOLY-DAY OR HALFHOLIDAY.

TO THE -EDITOR. Sir,— “ Tha Sabbath was made for man,” so cried the One rejected by the Jews of old. '"I came not 'to destroy the law or the prophets,' but to fulfil them,” is His cry to the Israelites and Gentiles of the present day. - The Jews rejected the Christ and crucified Him. The' Israelites and Gentiles for the .past 1800 years nominally accepted Hun, but practically rejected Him and His teachings. WSo are the legalised human butchers of the present time ?.' The nominal Christian nations of the world armed teethe teeth, crushing the poor, bleedingthe rich, brutali ising the manhood and debasing the womanhood of the nations by their cruel and infamous militarism. The times of the Gentiles are well nigh full, they are preparing for the slaughter which the prophetic word clearly shows is coming, when “ seven women will take hold of One man,] saying let ye be called by that name and we will provide what is necessary,” The Jews have been to the fore financially for years, they are coming to the fore nationally. It will soon be the millions of Israel and Judah. The ten tribes are" at the present time a mighty nation holdingthegafesof their enemies (whoholds the gateways of the world but the British ?) The identification of that nation with the lost tribes is in the near future, and then there will be millions keeping Sabbath on the last day of the week, as God the Father commanded. Let us be fair with pur fellow-citizens the Jews and the Seventh Day Adventists, and the. over increasing number of those who wish to keep Sabbath and obey the letter as well as the spirit of the fourth commandment, and lot us havs our holiday on tho Saturday. and give our fellow-citizens fair play to keep holy-day or holiday.—l am, &c., , - Israelite, but neither Adventist ..... nob Jew. - • - January 18,1895. P.S.~‘As an employer of labour I put it to the’ivote among my employees,- “Will you wdrk 45 hours in tho five-days of the week,_and_ have Saturday and Sunday clear, or will you work ,45 hours in the five days and a half f"~. The result was a tie. I therefore let half of the employees work five days and the other-half work five and a half days .during the week. We are'trying it during-tho summer months. If it is.suooessful we will- continue it during tho -winter months if tho employees wish it, thereby enabling them to keep holy-days or holidays which day they • like.-^-l am; Ac., I, T
