CRICKET.

A match was played yesterday between teams representing Te Aro House and Sargood. Sou and Ewen, and resulted in a win for the latter by 3 runs. The scores were— Te Aro House, 42; Sargood, 45. The match was decided on tho first innings. For the losers, W. Staff took three wickets for 15 runs, and J - . Smith three for 17. Dixon and Skelley . also bowled well. In the first innings Cramp scored 12 and Le Cron 11, for Sargood’s, and in tho second Upham made a score of 14; while for Te Aro House W. Staff’s score was 24, and F. Staff’s 15. The match between a Phomix mixed team and a Hutt team, at tho Hntt ground, was won by tho Phcenix by 59 runs on the first innings. Hutt batted first and scored 42, and Phoenix in tho first innings made 101.

Tho match between a mixed Kilbirnie team and the Thorndon House Open Club took place at Newtown Park yesterday afternoon. The Kilbirnie team batted first, and put together 55 runs, Emony scoring 20, Clariclgo 7 and Edwards 7. The Thorndon men were successful in making a total of 61, of which Mabson scored 18 and Godber 20, Thorndon thus winning an exciting game by six runs. Tho most successful with tho ball were :—For Kilbirnie, Edwards and Emony ; Thorndon, Gibson and Rowlands.

A match was played yesterday between Kirkcaldio and Stains and Karori Clubs, at Karori, resulting in a victoryfor the former team on the first innings by eight runs, tho scores being; Kirkcaldio and Stains 74, Karori 66. For the winners, the principal scorers were Grey 33, Lanham 13, and for the losers Dasent 43 and Dryden 12.
