The Executive of the New Zealand Union met last night, when the president, Mr Campbell, reported that good progress wae being made regarding the selection of tho representative team for Australia; reports were coming in to the eeleotion committee from all tho affiliated unione, and there was every reason to believe that an extremely strong combination would leave the Colony. The aeoretary, Mr E. D. Hobeo, read several letters from Anstrslis and England. The Australian letters showed that preparationo for of the team were in a very forward condition, and’the visit was looked forward to with very great interest. All affiliated unions were oo • operating cordially la the matter. Tho members of tho aeleotion committee have arranged to meet probably at Wellington. It wae decided to hold the next meeting of the union at Wellington on Juno 3, when a largo number of football representatives are expected to be present.
