BOWLING
Tho prize matches in the Wellington Bowling Club's programme, which have been in progress since the end ot last year, aro now rapidly nearing completion. Vaster* day afternoon Messrs G, E. VV. Willeston and J, M. Goddii played their Goal match in the last round for the junior bowls, and Mr Geddia proved the victor, and thus carries off the pr'za. The contest between those two players was a very keen one. Their first two matches were played before Faster, Mr Willeston winning the first by 21 points (the main) to 18, and Mr Goddis the second by 21 points to 15, while the third match (played yesterday) was won by Mr Goddis by 21 points to 17. Tho winner has passed through the various stages of the competition with only one defeat, 1.0., the first game against Mr Willeston. The Senior Bowls now lie between Meter# A. Campbell, T. Ballinger, F. W. Haybittle and F. W. Grady, while the President's Prlz* will fall either to Mr W. Gray or Mr A, Campbell. Fop Messrs Sargocd and Co.’s Cup the contest is now restricted to Messrs A. Campbell, A. McKee, P, Drummond and Dr Ewart, Messrs A. Sample, J. Lookie, F. W. Haybittle and C. E. VV. Willeston alone remain in the competition for Mr Barraud'o picture, and the struggle for Mr 0. M. Grumble’s leader's howls is now narrowed down to Messrs L. Blundell, C. E. W. Willeatoo and T. Ballinger, lo the Rink Tournament series, Russell's and Gray’s teams were pitted against each other on Saturday afternoon and had made 10 points each when the player* adjourned. The match is to be finished this afternoon. The game is 21 points op.
