EXPERT EVIDENCE.
A GUAIIANTiSE OF PURITY. We have before us the results of a series of chemical analysis to which Messrs James Baohanau and Co,’a “House of Com* mens Whisky” (as supplied to the House of Commons) was subjected by such a renowned scientist ns the public analyst for the City of Glasgow and the Counties of Lanark, Renfrew, and Sutherland, &c., John Clark, Ph. !>., P.1.C., who reports : ** These results indicate that this is a pare whisky, which has been kept for a considerable length of time in a sherry cask, and from the mildness and mellowness of its flavour I am of opinion that it is of very fine quality.” Stephenson Maodam, Ph.T)., etc., etc., lecturer in chemistry and consult* ing analytical chemist, also certifies as follows : 11 These results prove that the whisky has been carefully distilled, thoroughly matured, and is free from fufil oil or other noxious ingredients. It has apparently been aged with a sherry cask, and das acquired a full ethereal aroma, and it is in all respects a first.class and agreeable bevera#®-” Wo invite special attention to the expert testimonies of Messrs Clark and Macdara, than whom there is no analysts bettor qualified to give an opinion, and we know o! none whose opinion is entitled to more, respect and consideration : and we would remind our readers that Buchanan's House of Commons Whisky is the only Scotch Whisky that has been supplied to the Befreabruent Department of the English House of Commons for the past II years. This fact alone speaks volumes, and should be a sufficient guarantee of its high quality, Agents, Messrs Casteudyk ond Fooiie, Wo I. lington. 431
