ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(per press association.) Thames, June 15. A woman named Ellen Davie and a young man named Alfred Clark died suddenly yesterday. Hokitika, June 15. A Chinase miner. Ah Keo, was killed in bis o'aim at Ballarat Hill, Stafford, this morning, A fall of earth struck and knocked him into a tail race, breaking bis neck and one leg, Auckland, Juno 15. Mr Connell, solicitor (formerly Connell and Cooper), died suddenly to-day. Daring the voyage from Sydney of the barque Alice Muir, during squally weather, John Humphreys, able eeaman, fell from aloft. A buoy was thrown to him, but he failed to reach it, and went down. He was a native of Kent, and was aged 24, Thames, June 15. A married woman named Ellen Davies dropped dead yesterday morning while preparing breakfast. She had always enjoyed good health. The cause of death was apoplexy. The same evening a billiard marker named Alfred Clarke, who was subject to epileptic fits, fell into an open drain and was suffocated before he was discovered, being then quite dead. Christchurch, June 15. Mrs Hibeli, wife of Frank Hibell, insurance surveyor, died suddenly to-night while about her housework. She was 42 years old. The cause of death is supposed to be heart disease. Dunedin, June 15. A writ claiming £IOOO damages has been Issued against the Mornington Tramway Company by W. Burl for injuries alleged to have been occasioned by a defect in the Company's line. Grkymouth, June 18. James Young, baker, who was burned out on Friday last, is missing, and has not been seen sinoo 12 o’clock last night after putting a batch of bread into the oven, which bo had rebuilt. Search parties are out over the neighbourhood.
