STRIKE AT LYONS. (SPECIAL.) (Received June IS, 1 a.m.) Paris, June 15. There is a general strike at Lyons for shorter hours. AUSTRALIAN. THE SHEARERS GIVE IN. (per press association.) Brisbane, Juue 15. At a mass meeting of shearers hild at Barcaldine Station, a resolution was passed declaring the strike ended. The Chairman explained that the Unions bad been crashed out by the Government and the equattere. He advised the men to go to work, and to insist on the Government finding employment for them.

The Canterbury Trades and Labour Connoil has passed the following resolution ; "That this Council views with satisfaction the programme of the Government, as shadowed in the Governor’s Speech, and also the retrenchment policy as carried out during the recess,” The Council approved the Labour Bills as a whole.
