The elcotion of a Licensing Committee for the North East Ward of the city, resulted in the return of Messrs Kiudoll, Jameson, Wostenra, Humphreys, and Moss by a majority of over one hundred above the live candidates representing the prohibition party,

Tho Prohibitionists having been successful at Roslyn, made a strong effort to-day to capture tbe licensing eloetioa at North* East Valley. They were unauocoaef.il, the whale of the moderate candidates being elected. The polling was close, the lowest moderate being only two votes ahead of the highest prohibitionist, while the highest moderate bad 17 of a majority over the highest prohibitionist. There are four hotels iu the district.

The licensing election contest yesterday resulted in the return of the previous committee, and iu favour of an increase of all lioensse, by large majority.
