OTAKI ROAD BOARD.

■ 4" (from our own correspondent.) Otaki, January 5. A meeting of the Otaki Road Board was held on Saturday. Present—Wardens Simcox, Drake, Cootes, Bills, Death, and Ryder. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The Waikawa Natives, who wrote complaining of the stoppage of a road by T. Bevan were informed that the Board had no control over the road, John McCann was granted an extension of time for the Rahni contract. N. A. Anderson, Manakan, wrote asking that the obstruction on Hoani Taipua street be left six months. Referred to the Committee appointed to arrange the construction of the road, . Several contractors wrote asking that progress payments be made. Granted, Payments passed—General account, £6 17s 8d; loan account, £273 3s. A second instalment of £IOOO of the loan was applied for. The following tenders were accepted—No. 13, North Manakan, A. Porsaith, £146 16s: No. 9. Waitohn Valley, G. Cootes, £lls : No. 10, 11, and 12, Waitohn Valley, R. J. King, £U5lOs, £ll7 12s fid, £84195, respectively.
