It has been computed, as an illustration of the groat cheapening of ocean freights which has taken place in recent years, that holf a sheet of note paper will develop sufficient power, £when burned in connection with the triple expansion engine, to carry a ton a mile in an Atlantic steamship. To the many country now in the city, in want of a first-class article in men’s mercery, hats, shirts, and hosiery, we would suggest a call upon Davis and Clater, 97 Lambton quay, whose stock for style, value and variety is unapproached in the Colony.
